I seem to have spent the recent weekend writing jokes for a vaudeville act. I can't say that I understand them now that I have come back to myself.

Is anyone aware: what is the "deal" with air-plane food?

This is one thing I don't have a clue about, other than it's just there to get people not to bitch about being hungry.

Everyone is more amenable after a good meal.

But how could anybody think to complain during air travel? I'm sure I'd be far too excited.

I can't say I have any complaints about it. [Only because his last airplane meal was a nice salad and wine.]

Do you suppose the air cooks have to learn an entirely different way of cooking? Due to the height of the food?

I don't know how much cooking really goes on with airline meals... Which could be most people's problem with it.

I suppose a stove might be a danger... But they manage them on boats, despite the occasional rough seas.

It's cooked by a staff of chefs but it still tastes awful.

When you have to mass produce food that's supposed to have a personal touch ...I suppose it is...it's kind of sad.

It's more of a joke about jokes though.

...If indeed that sort of travel does become terribly expensive. But then wait: why not simply take the train?

I love trains possibly more than the next person, but they take such a long time. A plane out of Pawnee airport will get me to Chicago in under an hour.
