I seem to have spent the recent weekend writing jokes for a vaudeville act. I can't say that I understand them now that I have come back to myself.

Oh, I don't believe the concept had quite developed during your time. [And a giggle.] Richard Dawkins is the man to blame, I believe! He wrote a book on evolutionary principles and coined the word for use there. It's derived from the Greek language, actually, not just pulled out of thin air.

Well, I'm assuming you're the honest, idealistic type, I suppose. That's adorable! Not that I'd judge you for being corrupt and jaded, but I'd pick another adjective.
