Case #24: Video

[George is seated at his tea table, which is serving as a writing desk at the moment. A copy of the book Carmilla is in front of him.]

Um. I'd like to know who here is, or has ever been a vampire, or has had intim-...particular experi-...contact wi-...knows a lot about vampires. I'd like to speak to all of you, if possible. There are a few things I'd like to ask about.

[George notices the book in front of him, and tries to move it discreetly off screen, so no one is distracted by it~~'s sexiness~~.]

I know that it's a lot to ask, but if you do hear anything suspicious said among inmates, and you feel that you could, it would be very helpful if you would bring it to Mr. Nygma, Mr. Grayson, or myself.

Franklin is a secretive fellow normally, but for the last week or so I have barely seen him. And he seemed...more so.

The man is a friend, but considering the chain of disasters that ensued...every angle must be looked at and I understand that.

I do appreciate the information. We'll certainly look into it.

When you say you've barely seen him: he couldn't have slipped into a coma, could he have? Has he got a warden? I'm afraid I don't know him.

Also: I believe Mr. Nygma would like to get molds of everyone's teeth, just to eliminate them from the suspects list.

We could meet at the infirmary. I'm actually quite good at making molds. It takes something of a knack. The new lads are always surprised, because it looks quite easy, but if you don't do it just right they'll break.

[He arrives fairly punctually, dressed down to vest and shirtsleeves, his expression a bit troubled.]

Someone is trying to make my people look guilty of their crime. It's in my best interests to help the Wardens find this person out...

[He offers a tight smile when he sees George, and walks over, careful of his surroundings.]

Very well then.

[Yeah, Dracula. We should. Talk about that killing thing.

George is also in his shirtsleeves and suspenders, even though that leaves his erotic neck partly bared. He offers Dracula a small metal tray full of goop.]

If you could just press your fangs into this for a few moments, sir.

Very well. [Fang pop...and he complies, though he feels odd doing it....]

[...and his eyes bulge, as his expression above his sunk in teeth goes from "this is odd" to "OH MY DEVIL WHAT IS THIS HORRIBLE TASTE" and he makes an unhappy noise through his nose. But he stays the course, doesn't pull back, and then slowly with draws.]

...I...

Bleah! [He makes chewing faces like a dog who has accidentally eaten soap.]

Terribly sorry. Shoes...can't taste.

[George glances down at the mold.]

Well done, though!

Mnnf. Good. Thank you. I...[he paws at his mouth slightly.] Nnngh!

I had mixed feelings about doing this. But...everything I have read on how detectives do their work makes it clear that the more information you have, the sooner the true culprit will be discovered.

And if I cannot rationalize that no one will catch me if I drain someone to death, it's one more thing to keep my record unbroken.

Yes, exactly. And it's often easier to prove someone didn't commit the crime.

[George places the mold solemnly on the table.]

But we will solve this. You have my word.

Very well. I will be available if you need anything else. [He bows and turns to go.]
