Um...this might sound stupid but...in the TV studio I worked for we called clothespins C-47's.

...but I don't think the Admiral wants clothespins, he probably wants the airplane to take apart and use for parts for the Barge. That's just the first thing that popped into my head.

Well...yeah, they are, they help hold in the gels on the stage lights and don't heat up. I guess he might need something to pin things in place that won't heat up. If that's what he wants, make sure to get wooden ones. Metal gets hot and plastic melts.
