Case #24: Video

[George is seated at his tea table, which is serving as a writing desk at the moment. A copy of the book Carmilla is in front of him.]

Um. I'd like to know who here is, or has ever been a vampire, or has had intim-...particular experi-...contact wi-...knows a lot about vampires. I'd like to speak to all of you, if possible. There are a few things I'd like to ask about.

[George notices the book in front of him, and tries to move it discreetly off screen, so no one is distracted by it's sexiness.]

I was thinking more of how their biology operates.

Well I was wondering if they had saliva, because it had seemed to me they wouldn't need it, being dead, but a good point has been made in that, without it, speaking would be uncomfortable.

But I'm far from any sort of doctor. I believe someone else is looking into general biological operation. To pass the time.

That's based on the assumption that their method of speech is the same as ours.

And who would that be?

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-09-19 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
They open their mouths and everything.

Mr. Dracula and one of the other wardens who I'm afraid I haven't met. Why?

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2011-09-19 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a little bit more complicated than that.

I'm curious.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-09-20 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Speaking? But even children manage it. Eventually.

They're a completely different species, you can't judge them by human standards.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-09-20 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on that.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
We can, but I happen to be right.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-09-22 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps so. But perhaps not.

How noncommittal.

The information will not be shared with you, so don't get your hopes up.

Oh. I didn't realize this. I had thought one or the both of you might give a lecture or write a book once your research had been completed.

Yes, but though I might trust the Wardens with this information, I'm not trusting Crane.

Ah. I don't know Mr. Crane.

But I still think it could make a thrilling read. Think of it: an interview, with a vampire!

Ha, yes, I suppose so. Though in this case I will also be donating blood for analysis.

According to you. If you've spoken about this, it's going to get around the barge sooner or later.
