Case #17: Video
[Filtered Away From Howie]
[George clears his throat]
Friday evening, after dinner, there's to be a party in my rooms for Sergeant Howie. Anybody who'd like may come.
[George leans in toward the communicator, and stage whispers for some inexplicable reason:]
But please don't let on to him, as it's meant to be a surprise.
[Added later and hastily:]
Oh, and: I'm in 5-5.

I've got tea cakes and biscuits, but anything anybody'd like to bring would be welcome.
I think you'd look very smart in a jacket and tie. And you can come as you like.

I'm not very good at making cakes. I... um. I'll see.
I'm usually obliged to wear the jacket and tie. I... thought you might have a specific dress code in mind, but alright. I'll... wear what I want.

Perhaps you could make something else?
Oh, I thought you meant a more formal jacket and tie: like a tuxedo. But I understand most people here haven't got that sort of wardrobe, so I'm not going to insist on it.

I will figure something out. [he means ask Jane for help.]
Well, I have my best suit, but it's not quite... that standard, I have to say. I just wondered what would be considered appropriate.

Clothed. Clothed would be considered appropriate. Appropriately clothed.
