[George makes his way through a dark hallway, his comm held in front of him, filming and illuminating his face as he walks. The result isn't quite night vision, but it's similar. It is 2am, and George speaks gravely, but excitedly.]

My name is George Crabtree. I have always believed in ghosts, because my aunt once...well, it's a rather long story, involving my uncle and a jacket, and I will recount it some other time. I am currently aboard the...spaced station whose name I can not pronounce, which appears to have gone into some sort of lock down. Approximately one hour ago, I found myself plagued by a feeling of unease, and a series of unexplained voices, so I have set out on a quest in the hopes of capturing what I have heard on my communicator. I am joined only by my fellow Barge inhabitants who chose to disembark at this port, although I am not entire sure whom that is or where they might be. I can only hope that they do not creep up behind me in the dark, as that would be terribly startling. Nevertheless, I vow to spend the entire night traversing these highly active paranormal hallways. With any luck, I will capture some sort of irrefutable evidence of haunting, and in the process have a rollicking adventure. ...Perhaps, some kind of "ghost adventure"...

[George smiles at his own ingenuity, but a sound from off-screen causes him to freeze, and breathlessly ask:]

Ohmygoodness. What was that?

[George is wandering the station's hallways. Feel free to contact him via comm, or run into him in person and become part of his raw, extreme, Barge Adventures. TALKING LOUDLY.]

I just hope it's a girl ghost. [He looks around in embarrassment.] What else should we ask them?

Why might that be?

I suppose...we ought to ask if they mean us harm, but I'm not sure I would like to know.

Because I swear it just pinched my bum! Again!

Hrmph. If they meant us harm they would not have allowed us to group up before attacking, I suspect.

That's very cheeky of them.

[George gives the air a disapproving look. ...Or did he just wink at it? So hard to say.]

I don't know. They might be looking to take out two birds with one stone. Although I've never understood what the good of that was: I can't imagine a situation where one would be short of stones...

That was incredibly cheeky of them. Now why can't human girls be like that?

[He shrugs. The screen jumps three times.] Tell them one jump for yes, two for no.

Because it would be terribly inappropriate.

[Serious face.]

To...what?

[Dracula just chuckles and shakes his head.]

To whether they...mean us harm, I suppose, is a start. I expect there will be two jumps.

Let us hope so.

[George clears his throat again.]

Do you...mean us harm?

[The screen jumps twice...and then starts scrolling rapidly, spitting out alien text.] Ehm...odd...

Can you read that?

No, I cannot. But I think you have successfully determined that we are not alone....[The screen stills again, then jumps twice.]

[George leans in to Dracula and whispers:]

Should we perhaps move on? I'm not sure what we might do for them.

Now I feel that I must find out more about communicating in this way, so that we may be better prepared so handle such things.

I think that's an excellent idea. We might even be able to get a group together. To apprehend any spirits who did mean us harm. Who are not afraid of any ghosts. Ghost catchers! And we could tell the rest of the Barge, so that they would then know whom to call.

Let us begin, when we return, with a study of the texts then. Kardec is a very wise man, and I think that will provide a good background.
