Case # 30: Video

[George is dressed casually for George. No uniform, and no jacket. His shirt-sleeves are rolled up, and his hair is untidy. He has Howie's motorcycle, and several books about motorcycles out on the floor around him, where he is sitting.]

Is it just me, or has everyone been a bit quiet today? Is there something going on that I'm unaware of?

I suspect it must be something very good, as I would have heard of something awful, where as I certainly can't blame people for being distracted away from their devices, if, say, the Admiral has given everyone a puppy.

[George looks pleased. And then very thoughtful.]

But then of course, I would wonder: where is my puppy?

We can ask if they're out there, but a lot of the time it doesn't work like that.

Well, no I haven't even got one, really. It's only that...

Did you know I went home? I only just got back. I was gone six months. I wrote a book. And Miss Moffatt and I are so very...similar. But in the end I chose not to join her lady detective's agency. Because it was for ladies. But I also suspect she was interested in me beyond my detecting abilities.

But then Miss Ogden appeared again, and asked me if I was escorting anyone to her sister's wedding, and I said no, thinking she'd ask me to escort her, but she didn't. So I went with Henry. He was a terrible date.

Has she said anything about me?

I didn't know that. I was in a coma.

She probably wanted you to ask her. Women do that. I'd said she does from the way she was glaring at me.
